(Ok... before I RESTART this post I have to say that I am so mad, my computer decided it wanted to erase the almost finished post I was working on....so I have to start ALLL over! Guess my computer didn't like what I had to say.)
Day 13 of vacation.....time to go home day! This day started off early early. It was 6:45 when my alarm went off. I spent some time last night with my momma, then with my sister, then packing. 1 am was not the best time to go to sleep last night. Oh well, I have worked with worse!
It is hard to leave. When I am in AZ I miss my childhood home and when I am WA I miss my grown up home. I just wish both homes were closer together so that I could be a part of both more often.
Our first stop on our journey to the airport was the Virginia Mason hospital for my mom's year check up since her hip replacement surgery. She got a gold star for progress. He told her she needed to strength train a bit more so that she doesn't have trouble walking up stairs. After the hospital my dad took us down memory lane.
He spent his childhood(until about 13) in North Center (seattle area). It was fun to see where he grew up. It was more fun hearing him say things like "and this is the fire hydrant we played on, and that is the sidewalk that my sister (aka my life coach) road her little scooter down and through the glass of the front door." (she did not get cut, just in case you were wondering) And "that is the walking bridge I had to army crawl over because I was so afraid of heights I couldn't walk over it, so embarassing." (poor papa) His small town "hood" is now a real "HOOD." Not so much the place you would want to be after dark. It is amazing how time changes things.
While on our adventure we came across an AMC movie theater. We decided we could kill time by seeing a movie. Umm well that WAS a good idea except there wasn't anything good playing. So we decided to get something to eat. Why is it if you can't find anything to do you usually end up eating or sleeping? Funny how that is. My pops decided on Johnny Rockets (because it was right next to the theater). Now if you don't know what Johnny Rockets is, it is a burger and shake place. Not exactly the place that someone who is choosing to eat healthy would find anything to eat. But Lucky for me they had a salad...yep basically A salad (aka 1). It was a salad, nothing to write home about (but something to blog about for sure.) Hey what do you expect from a place that is known for calorie laden burgers and shakes. After linner or dunch (aka lunch/dinner) we made our way to the airport. My dad is such a gentleman he ran to the car in the pouring rain to get the car so that us ladies wouldn't get too wet. (love him)
After my goodbyes I slowly made my way to my gate. I have to say that I love free wifi and streaming netflix. I got to watch a couple of tv shows while I waited for my flight to leave. I was almost giddy when I realized that our flight was only half full and NO ONE SAT IN MY ROW! Only drawback the two 15 year olds sitting behind me. This was a sampling of their conversation.
Girl 1: Like you know like Janie right? Well she like is totally going out with like 2 guys. She told me that if she gets tired of one she has another to go to. Like really? Who does that?
Girl 2: Like no way! Who are the two guys? Is one of them like Trevor? He is like so hot, I would go out with him. She doesn't deserve to have like 2 guys.
Girl 1: I know I just want to like tell trevor that he like can do so much better then her. But I don't want to get all involved in like that drama. She like isn't even like that pretty.
Girl 2: I know. (starts singing) Friday friday it's friday. (the youtube song EVERYONE is singing) I like just like that song. Don't you....
And on it went. Oh to be 15 again. I was about to eject myself out the emergency exit thinking about having to listen to that all the way to phoenix, but they quieted down and it was alllllll good.
No issues during the flight (update: no issues is a good thing and according to my best friend the reason why my flight was probably half full is becuase the airline I flew on had a hiccup in phoenix aka a portion of the side of the plane cracked and ripped off! Lovely...didn't know THAT until after I got back to phoenix!!)and thanks to my best friend I made it to my house safe and sound. I can't tell you how great it felt to sleep in my bed again! I just rolled around in the sheets and blankets for a while settling myself in.
Ahhhhhhhh so good to be home. ZZZZZzzzzZZZzzZZzZZzzzZzZz
Love Angela
