Thursday, last day of 2nd grade. I have really gotten a sense of what it would be like to have my own classroom. I even spent today making sub plans for a sub. So I am sub making sub plans for another sub. That is just a bit weird. But I felt pretty confident that they were good plans for who ever gets the class tomorrow. We had a bit of a rough time today. I tried everything to get them to settle down but they just weren't having it. So we had a little "I'm in trouble" time to think about how our day could have been better! Ya that didn't work either. I am sending all of my patience that I have left to the sub that will have them tomorrow. She/he is sure gonna need it! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA I was definitely all to happy to pass the class off to someone else.
After school today, grammy and I did a round robin grocery shop. We planned out our route and set out. Mental note; make sure to not go food shopping when you are hungry. It wasn't as bad as it could have been but it wasn't as easy as it could have been either. It is amazing how much more expensive it is to eat healthy. No wonder most of the world is overweight. Cheap things are bad for you and good things no one can afford to buy. Somehow with our limited budget we are able to get the things we need. By the grace of God, I am able to afford the food that I know my body needs to have. We completed our shop and made it home with a full trunk and an empty stomach. Dinner here we come. It was a good thing it didn't take very long because I would have had to start gnawing on my grammy's arm! I don't think she would have appreciated THAT very much.
Today was definitely a busy and long day. But I enjoyed it. I enjoy teaching, I enjoy grocery shopping but most of all I enjoy time with my grammy!

Angela,
ReplyDeleteI am a longterm sub, at age 42. I teach 4th AND 5th grade math...started Feb. 28 and my assignment runs til the end of the school year. I love teaching too, am fully certified, and yet cannot find a full-time job. I have been MFing for 4 weeks and have lost 22 lbs, two clothing sizes, and have lowered my bp and cholesterol levels. I truly believe in this program. Thanks for sharing your blog address on the TFSL website; it's so nice to connect with another substitute teacher (one of the world's most stressfull and underpaid positions, I'm sure!) Best of luck to you in all future endeavors...I believe in you!!!
