Gram and I went out to run a few errands but what we really should have done was stay home! It is too stinkin hot to be running around at 11:30 in the morning. What were we thinking...obviously we weren't. After that we finished up the menu for the week and went through some food magazines pulling out recipes that used "approved" foods. I am finding it easier and easier to do this. I don't miss bread, rice, pasta, and potatoes as much as I think I should at this point. I consider that a victory in and of itself. I hope that when I am in maintenance that I will feel the same way about these starch and carb products. I don't want to spend my life pining away for a carb or starch. That is so not attractive.
I made up some sweet and sour chicken that was a hit we will definitely be having that again. Paired it with a salad and wallah I am satisfied. Such a great feeling to be satisfied with the food you eat and not continually wanting more, wishing and hoping for more.
