Dear Blog; Day 23

Second day of my little daddy daughter road trip.  Day two was a little tougher in the morning then day one.  My aunt went to town on breakfast for my dad, she pulled out all the stops.  Have I mentioned that I have a reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll weakness for breakfast food.  How do you not pay attention to the smell of bacon, that is like the universal national smell, EVERYONE knows when anyone anywhere is making bacon.  Not only that but it is like campfire smell, it lingers on your clothes; ahhhhhh I have never smelled something sooo amazing.  If you are hungry later on in the day you can start sucking on your shirt, just to get the slight taste of bacon....I know secretly you all want to do that or have done it!  She made bacon and eggs, and cubed potato hash browns with onions and peppers and cheese and bagels and cream cheese.  A breakfast menagerie my eyes grew three sizes this morning as I watched her prepare dish after heavenly dish.  When she finished I stuck my 3/4 of a cup of oatmeal in the microwave.  2 minutes later I was sitting in the chair slowly eating spoonful after spoonful of warm oatmeal, imagining I was eating eggs and potatoes.  I am happy to say that I felt satisfied after I was finished.  Not in the old way I would have felt satisfied had I eaten the "other" breakfast, but satisfied in that I had all the things my body needed to function. 

On the way home in the afternoon dad was hungry he apologized but stopped at a fast food place.  I was distracted a bit by being on the phone plus I had eaten some medifast soup so I was doing good.  As much as I stared at him eat bite after bite out of the corner of my eye I didn't have the urge to grab it out of his hand and shove it into my mouth all at one time.  That is a success. 

These last 2 days I have felt empowered and prepared.  I have found that being prepared it makes it so much easier to stick to my plan.  I can say no thank you, and eat my bar or soup or snack or whatever. Each day is something new and I am learning that I can do this.
